I agree that those lovely Mediterranean blues can look tawdry under our grey northern light. There used to be a shop in SW London called Paper and Paints who would mix a colour to match whatever you brought in - maybe you could send them a sprig!

Pomona xPomonahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18399181139470676975noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6974257.post-34085522236760932462009-08-17T12:02:12.647-04:002009-08-17T12:02:12.647-04:00You may have trouble matching your swatches to you...You may have trouble matching your swatches to your vision because the swatches are not juxtaposed to the scene you see your blue in. You may need good sized swatches and put them on your gate until you find the one that matches your vision, which actually may not be the actual blue of the photographs you recall, which is okay, you are after a look not the name of a color. Strong color is a good thing in my book.Lannyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16018584509455303394noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6974257.post-27451626012141280892009-08-17T11:57:27.815-04:002009-08-17T11:57:27.815-04:00You could always take a picture in to a paint stor...You could always take a picture in to a paint store that has one of those computer matching things (it has a little "eye" that evaluates a colour on something and comes up with a formula for mixing that colour).Allisonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16709674707044199845noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6974257.post-90399797867582229362009-08-17T09:30:41.737-04:002009-08-17T09:30:41.737-04:00lol, i know what you mean!

Then hang the sample/s out on the gate at different times of day, or in different weather conditions and see how you like them.

xoFranceshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08352407314710067616noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6974257.post-29442272071560202942009-08-17T06:44:45.885-04:002009-08-17T06:44:45.885-04:00Tricky - trouble is the light, eg. that Greek blue...Tricky - trouble is the light, eg. that Greek blue doesn't look so vibrant in our Northern clime.
