Lovely June
Right on time again! The June picture from the BBC Homes and Antiques Magazine. The only thing I am not quite sure about is the silver spotlight lamp. But everything else, beautiful.

"Of all the great things that the English have invented and made part of the credit of the national character, the most perfect, the most characteristic, the only one they have mastered completely in all its details so that it becomes a compendious illustration of their social genius and their manners, is the well-appointed, well-administered, well-filled country house."

OMG! I just love all the photo's, I wish we all could go on a junkin trip with the Queen of Shabby Chic. I have loved the look for so long and I am finally bringing some of it to play in my home. I didn't see the lamp until you mentioned it and then I agreed with you...it seems out of place in that room. So glad that your daughter's prom went perfectly and that she had a lovely dress. Ahhh, the stuff of memories. Leaving is hard, but it's all good. Trust us older gals who know such things. ;>
I agree with you about the lamp...it's a bit too modern for that room.Have the same taste as you...love the country look!

Gorgeous rooms and gardens - if only :-) Glad your daughters prom went well - must be scary/sad when they get nearer leaving :-(

Great post leading to a lot of drewling, once more :)))
Have a wonderful day!!!
Thank you so much for your kind comment on my blog.
Those little lampshades are from Laura Ashley. I actually bought them years ago (when I was at College), prior to owning the vintage chandelier. I also have a set in blue, but sadly there are only four shades, not five.
Your blog is so pretty.
I hope you are having a lovely day!

Lovely, inspiring photos!
My daughter is graduating too. Hard to think of them leaving.
Love the living room (and all the others too). I'm dithering over what to do in my living room - all the furniture needs reupholstering -- and I think this might be just the inspiration I needed to get going!
Blessings,
G
And isn't it true, after all these years, I also still love Shabby Chic!?
