"Of all the great things that the English have invented and made part of the credit of the national character, the most perfect, the most characteristic, the only one they have mastered completely in all its details so that it becomes a compendious illustration of their social genius and their manners, is the well-appointed, well-administered, well-filled country house."

Hi Lisa, your pictures are lovely. I spy Rosali bedding (and I'm very jealous!). Your best friend sounds like a treasure.

I absolutely adore 'All Creatures Great and Small'.
We were watching it only a couple of days ago...and could watch it again and again,it is so well cast.
Glad Cath got to you!! ;-)
Some addictions are good! Pillow ones especially.
Glad you got some Cath.
Lucky you with your Cath goodies - will try and get your parcel off today !!
Hopefully might get chance to fit some thrifting in today and going to supermarket that has Cath eco bags !!! Fingers crossed.
What lovely goodies to receive. All Creatures Great and Small was such a fun programme - used to catch it every week when it first came out.
Love all the pillowcases. I have that addiction myself! Also loved All Creatures Great and Small. Just reading a book by the original Helen(Carol Drinkwater)about her buying an olive farm in the south of France. Lovely to read on these cold and dark winter nights. Lovely Cath goodies by the way.
I have a bit of a pillow/bedding addiction too! Love your bedside table - so pretty.
A wee bairn soon to grace this world? How lovely!
Oh I loved the first Helen, too. I think the actress has written a book about her life on a farm in France??? Could be mistaken. Anyway, you're so right...that Helen was perfect. The other one just doesn't seem right...more like Jim's mother than his wife.
Enjoy your gift!
All this pink prettiness...makes my heart swoon. Lovely, lovely post, Lisa.
Lucky you, the CK box of goodies looks great. Enjoyed your pictures, very pretty. There's nothing wrong with a pillowcase addiction, especially if they're as pretty as yours!
Take care.

Glad to have discovered your gorgeous blog! I too collect old vintage English china, although I prefer pink roses to the classic white and blue. Cath Kidson treasures look yummy! Not sure how readily available they would be in Australia.
i love your little treasures, so beautiful..
Every home should have a little bit of 'Cath' - glad you got some. As for pillowcases, they don't take up much room - pretty harmless addiction if you ask me ;-)

you can't have too many pillowslips you know. A new baby on the way? how wonderful. best wishes..Pam
you are so sweet, thanks for the lovely comment. I see we have a similar obsession (pillowcases). I too have vowed not to buy anymore but I doubt that will last. I think lots of vintage loving girls have a thing about pillow and cases. They are just a great way to display pretty fabrics! I love the knitted bib, what a lovely idea!
What beautiful photos! I have a bit of an addiction to antique linen sheets and pillowcases, especially if they have crochet lace edgings. But there really are only so many one bed needs...
there's absolutely nothing wrong with that picture and i really do like the style your blog carries out. and have fun with cath i adore her bodyproducts aswell.
take care
yvonne
