This is the plan...

I am going to attempt to make my own laundry soap. My middle daughter has eczema and has always had an allergy to a famous name brand laundry detergent so I have always had to use another brand. Lately, with this brand, she has been complaining of itchiness again so I thought I would give this a try. Apparently, you only use a few tablespoons to half a cup for these homemade mixtures. I am making the powdered version. The liquid just seems too icky as you must boil it on the stove. There are many resources on the web for these recipes. Let me know if you attempt any of them. And wish me luck!

I just made made my first 'batch' of homemade laundry products last week. I made a spray on stain remover and fabric softener. Have only tried them once so far and think they work fairly well. I put some lavender oil in the fabric softener but evidently not enough -- couldn't smell it all. Guess I'll try adding a little more, but then using half a bottle of essential oil might not be that cost effective? I found links to both recipes by entering 'homemade spray & wash' in Google search if you're interested. I also bought all the ingredients for the laundry soap (looks like what you have) but haven't made it yet. I'm anxious to hear what you think about it.

Wow I am impressed!
My Mum has started to suffer with eczema so I'm on the lookout on internet land for anything she can use. May have to pass on the idea to make soap!

Ohooo good luck you must let us know how you get on.

Regarding the camera I have bought a super little one from Argos, a Samsung digital, and a fantastic £50.00, have a looky at my newest posts with photographs to give you a little idea, have it on auto at the moment though would like to use it manually. It was recommended to me by a fellow blogger and like her I am very happy with it, and came in my favourite colour too ;)

Wishing you luck. I see more and more are doing this all the time. Suzanne at The Farmer's Wife also has a good recipe for homemade fabric softener.

I've been making my own laundry detergent for several months now. I've posted a few entries on my blog about it.
I have been using the Zote bar soap which comes in a pink and white. I've used the Fels Naptha before but like the Zote better. It takes out stains better for me.

You'll love it if you try it, that's for sure! I know I do.

I make this all the time and it is wonderful because I cannot stand the artificial scents of commercial laundry soap. I do buy scent free Downy but every other time I put vinegar in the fabric softener dispenser. It cleans any soap residue, off the washer and the clothes. Your clothes will end up clean and nothing else.
