"Of all the great things that the English have invented and made part of the credit of the national character, the most perfect, the most characteristic, the only one they have mastered completely in all its details so that it becomes a compendious illustration of their social genius and their manners, is the well-appointed, well-administered, well-filled country house."

Hmm, Prom season certainly has come a long way, in a really good way. You have served to remind me of my first prom dress. Don't get me wrong, I know my mother meant wel, and the selection wasn't exactly prime in a small NH town, but the satin top, and floofy bottom in sunflower yellow made a skinny kid like me look like something out of the circus.... and it made my complextion turn to something akin to a Star Trek character. Needless to say I have never worn yellow again, can't even stand it on walls. By the time it was PROM season for my daughter I was in the city and the selectioons were gorgeous. sigh.
Hi,
The third dress if definetely my favourite! I hope you and your daughter both find your dream dresses!! I think I cannot advise you where to buy......since I live in Holland!!!
Good luck shopping!
Lieve groet, Madelief
Prom dresses in small town Maine are also hard to come by. Looks like you are on the right track!
What a pretty blog you have! Good luck finding the right dress(es!) - it's always so stressful finding just the right one for these occasions. I love the first and third dresses!
Wow - what beautiful dresses! Maybe in my next life....
