The Wonders of Mactac

Busy little bee. That's me. I have been painting our disgusting laundry room. There are not any before pictures because it was too gross to post. It had, get this, dark wood panelling. Yuk. It is now covered in a very soft white. Positively delightful. My little ironing table that I made ages ago, now looks ever so wonderful against the calm white. I am thinking about some cute vintage glass knobs for the drawer.

I have fallen deeply in love with mactac. I lined the shelves with it and it is so sweet. Did you know it comes in a myriad of patterns now? Not just the ugly fruit ones I remember when I was a wee one. The ones I have here are actually Laura Ashley.

DN2's job yesterday was to adhere the paper to the shelves. She does not appreciate the wonders of mactac. Actually, she hates it. And the little bubbles just about sent her over the edge. No worries, with a little creative adjustments they were gone. Love this stuff. Really.

Break's over. Gotta go.

Hope you are having a productive week, too!

Wish I had a laundry room then I could hide all the washing and ironing in there and shut the door!
Your looks very cosy with the pretty little table.

I would so love a laundry room! Yours looks lovely. The little ironing table is very pretty. I know what you mean about not wanting to show the before photos. I feel like that about a lot of my house. Not that it's really horrible, it's just not 100% my taste. As I've moved in with my boyfriend the look is a little bit masculine. I'm hoping to eventually getting it looking good enough to go on my blog!

I'd (almost!) enjoy ironing in such a pretty room. As it is I usually watch a dvd to pass the time!

Well I think you should be very proud of yourself :) Your new laundry room looks so pretty (I can imagine the dark wood panelling!)
Found your blog through ragged roses and really enjoyed reading it. I shall be back again for a visit. Lovely photos too.

Hi, Way to go!! I am a firm believer in a lovely laundry. Why should such a scary room (just kidding) also be ugly. I think it is time for me to de-mess my laundry. Thanks for the inspiration. Cherrie

Hi, your laundry room is looking very pretty...I really like the flowery patterns. We've been up-dating our laundry recently and have just got to put up a few more hooks and buy a coat stand to finish it off...that's the problematic world, buy...no spare cash, as ever!

Your laundry looks great. I would love a laundry (not that I am doing much in the way of laundry at the moment!), but we don't have the space. I would maybe be more enthusiastic if I could do it in a room like your though!
